Vitamin A programs need rethinking

It is not sufficient to consider vitamin A supplementation only as a means to combat vitamin A deficiency.

WHO has recommended high-dose vitamin A supplementation for more than 20 years. In this debate piece we argue that the time has come to conduct large-scale multi-centre placebo-controlled vitamin A supplementation trials designed to test the overall effect on mortality of these programs as well as the interactions with sex and other immune-modulating interventions like vaccines.

New research results on MMR vaccine by CVIVA and Bandim Health Project

New research results by CVIVA and Bandim Health Project showing that MMR-vaccine has beneficial non-specific effects besides protecting against measles, mumps and rubella have been published by JAMA.

The new research results have received a lot of media attention both in Danmark and abroad.
