Expert for trials in India to validate BCG Vaccine results
With remarkable information on the positive effects of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) and measles vaccines on child mortality emerging out of Africa, India will do well to conduct clinical trials to validate these results, Frank Shann, professor, Critical Care Medicine, Royal Children's Hospital, University of Melbourne, has said

Some extraordinary discoveries are being reported from West Africa about the BCG and measles vaccine providing protection for conditions other than tuberculosis and measles, respectively. Thereby they help reduce deaths among children from infections such as pneumonia, infections in the blood, and diarrhoea, Prof. Shann explained. This accounts for nearly 30 per cent drop in mortality under five years.
